Dr. Song Dengyuan Presents DAS Solar's TOPCon3.0 Innovation

2023-02-01

On January 31, the "SOLAR MODULE INNOVATIONS 2023 - LOOKING BACK AND FORTH Conference" organized by TaiyangNews kicked off online. It was attended by well-known market research organizations and leading enterprises in the industrial chain to share the latest developments in module technology and market insights. Dr. Song, CTO of DAS Solar, gave a keynote speech titled "Development of N-type TOPCon Multi-GW Level Module Production with High Power and Low Degradation in DAS Solar"and presented DAS Solar's innovative N-type TOPCon3.0 technology and products.

DAS Solar's Innovative N-type TOPCon Cell Technology

In 2019, DAS Solar started researching and developing N-type bifacial cell based on its cutting-edge passivation contact technology. Since then, DAS Solar and continued to carry out cell structure design and process innovation based on TOPCon1.0. DAS Solar successfully developed TOPCon2.0 technology featuring 16BB and ultra-high emitter square resistance technology, and in 2022, it made a major breakthrough in the fields of high energy density precision doping laser SE technology and ultra-thin polycrystalline silicon technology, to develop TOPCon3.0, so that the average efficiency of TOPCon cells in mass production can be further increased to more than 25.2%, and the reliability and stability of N-type DAON series products can be further ensured while improving cell efficiency.

In-house testing demonstrates that N-type bifacial cell has a laboratory efficiency of up to 26%. The mass production efficiency of N-type bifacial cell has reached 25.2%, and the 22.8% efficiency of mass production of modules, ensures DAS Solar as the industry leader. According to a new energy industrialized solar cell efficiency distribution, the efficiency of mass-produced N-type batteries is expected to increase from the current average of 25.2% to 26% in 2023.

DAS Solar's N-type Module Production Technology
• On July 13, 2022, DAS Solar released the white paper on N-type products and the "DAON" brand N-type high-efficiency modules
• On December 7, 2022, DAS Solar rolled out the Black-thru DAON Mini

N-type is armed with an excellent SiOX+Poly Si passivation layer, giving N-type cells high efficiency and bifaciality. Excellent N-type product design and strict quality control ensure the high reliability of DAON products. Thanks to the fact that N-type silicon is free of the "BO" complex, there is almost no attenuation of module power following LID and LeTID tests. The power drop after DH, TC, and PID tests is substantially less than 5%, as required by the IEC standard.

N-type modules feature higher power, lower power attenuation, higher bifaciality, better temperature coefficient, and better low-irradiation performance. At the same installed capacity, the power generation of N-type modules is about 5% higher than P-type ones, significantly cutting the kilowatt-hour cost of the photovoltaic system and increasing the rate of return of photovoltaic power stations. Various applications have highlighted the kilowatt-hour cost advantages of N-type products.

In 2022, DAS Solar saw the annual module bid-winning scale exceed 10 GW, ranking among the top ten in the world. As a new first-tier brand in the photovoltaic industry, DAS Solar has become a leader in the research and development and manufacturing of N-type cell modules, and its technology and products are highly impressive. By the end of 2023, DAS Solar's N-type cell capacity and module capacity will reach 30 GW.
